The Nova Foundation was created when two life-long friends decided to endow a scholarship, but were disappointed in the bureaucracy and archaic evaluation process. We wanted to evaluate the applicants on a deeper level then GPAs and standardized test scores. We wanted to see who these applicants were, their character, their story. We did
The Nova Foundation was created when two life-long friends decided to endow a scholarship, but were disappointed in the bureaucracy and archaic evaluation process. We wanted to evaluate the applicants on a deeper level then GPAs and standardized test scores. We wanted to see who these applicants were, their character, their story. We didn’t believe this was best captured by standard metrics. We wanted our support to tip the scales for our recipients to lead them towards a better life. Valedictorians with full scholarship offers from universities are not our targets, we want to find the students who may not be furthering their education if it were not for our support.
The second event that formed The Nova Foundation was when one of the founders had to rely on charity to stay near a sick loved one who was undergoing a clinical trial on the other side of the country. While there were caring people willing to help he saw that families in these situations needed so much more support and they didn’t know where to look for it.

We focus on maximizing the value of our donations. 100% of donations goes towards our causes. All overhead is covered by the founders who also do not receive compensation.
